Lieutenant Wright
started his career at with the St. Petersburg Police Department in 1998 as a Civilian Report Writer. He obtained his sworn status in 2000 upon graduating from the Southeastern Public Safety Institute (SEPSI). His service with the St. Petersburg Police Department continued in the Uniform Patrol Division as well as the Community Policing Unit.

In 2002 Lieutenant Wright accepted employment as a Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, Florida where he served in the Uniform Patrol Division and Special Investigations Division as an undercover Narcotics Agent. Additionally, he has served as a Field Training Officer, and a member of the Emergency Response, and Honor Guard Teams.

Lieutenant Wright has also served in the Criminal Investigations Division- Night Investigations Squad (NIS) as a Corporal until he was promoted to Sergeant in 2013. As a Sergeant he was re-assigned to the NIS investigating violent persons crimes until he was promoted to Lieutenant in 2016 at which time he assigned to the Night Watch Command. Lieutenant Wright is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division- Aviation Unit where he is responsible of the day to day operations of the agency’s fleet of aircraft.

Lieutenant Wright is blessed to have Associate in Arts degree from St. Petersburg College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration, and Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Columbia College. He is also a graduate of The Southern Police Institute’s 72nd Command Officer Development Course.

In addition to serving on the Executive Board for the Central Florida Chapter of NOBLE, he serves on the Executive Board of the YMCA of Central Florida Teen Achievers Program empowering area teens for future success.
