Master Deputy Barbara Smith Herron
is a graduate of Columbia College with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She is assigned to Crime Prevention and Community Relations Division with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Barbara started her career in law enforcement on February 9, 2006 with a strong desire to serve her community.
Barbara has worked with the Uniform Patrol Division, Community Policing in Youth Services Division and Court Security. She trained extensively and obtained several certifications in Crisis Intervention (CIT), Drugs and Dangerous Narcotic’s, Victims Advocate for Domestic Violence, Crime Prevention Practitioner (FCP), Florida Crime Prevention Practitioner (FCPP), and Critical Incident Management Team (CIMT).
Barbara server’s her community as a mentor, providing assistance to teens on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, through one of the many groups she’s a member of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Florida Crime Prevention Association (FCPA), Central Florida Chapter of 100 Black Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.(AKA) and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE).
